Glasgow, UK, 16 March 2026: Two of Great Britain’s most established independent connection providers (ICPs), UKPS and Energetics, who already deliver nationwide coverage as part of the Last Mile group, have today announced they will formally adopt the Last Mile name. This logical step brings together decades of expertise to deliver a more consistent, streamlined experience for customers across GB.

Energetics and UKPS have over four decades of joint experience designing and delivering multi-utility infrastructure. As part of the Last Mile group of companies, both organisations have increasingly aligned their approach and worked closely across teams over the last several years. Operating as a single, unified design and build team combines the expertise and local knowledge of both businesses, streamlining services and reducing complexity across construction programmes.

Last Mile: Site

As one of GB’s largest independent multi-utility infrastructure providers, Last Mile has the national scale to support development projects of any size, with the specialist regional knowledge to deliver for local developments across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use sectors.

Richard Thomas, Last Mile CEO, said:

“Presenting ourselves as one Last Mile team is about giving customers absolute clarity and a more consistent experience wherever they work with us. By bringing our design and build expertise together under a single identity, we’re strengthening our nationwide presence and making it simpler for customers to deliver their projects with confidence.”

For customers, the service will be smoother, more efficient and delivery will be simplified. Where customers previously dealt with two separate brands and teams when developing sites in different regions, the design and build team will now work with a single identity, providing a consistent point of contact and clear accountability for all of their projects, regardless of location.

Gavin Thorne, Group Head of Infrastructure and Utilities, Barratt Redrow plc said:

“We fully support the transition to a single Last Mile delivery model. Retiring the UKPS and Energetics brands in favour of one unified platform is a positive outcome for us as the country’s largest homebuilder and will help to reinforce their role as a valued framework partner with us.”

The evolution in the way Last Mile delivers its design and build offering is underpinned by significant support from its global infrastructure investors; providing a robust, long-term financial platform to facilitate Last Mile’s growth, to offer innovative asset-finance models, to deliver GB’s energy transition, and to meet housing delivery targets at scale.
